I can see how someone could read this sign and think, “I’d like to just keep working with my partner and not get into any more serious stuff,” but that’s not the point. The point is to make an explicit statement about what your relationship is, and then to ask people to read it out to you.
This is actually a really good way of making people think about what their relationship is. I have been in several relationships where the person in my life has said this, and I think its good to know that they think of you the same way. It can be really hard to figure out how to express this stuff to people, so this is a really helpful tool to have.
